Frequently Asked Questions

Is an evaluation required before beginning services?

Yes, an evaluation is required before beginning. Depending on the type of therapy and the history of the patient, we offer several different evaluation types.

Can you go to my child's private school or daycare for therapy?

Yes! We are happy to coordinate with your child's school or daycare for therapy options.

What ages do you treat?

We treat infants through adults at The Therapy Station. Please call for more specific information about services for specific needs.

Where do I send a referral?

Please email referrals to amaris@therapystationstl.com or fax to 844-965-9486.

How long will my child need therapy?

At the end of the initial evaluation appointment, an estimate of how many sessions your child will need along with frequency and therapy recommendations will be discussed.

Can you work with my child if they get physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy at school already?

Yes! We often support the services that your child is already receiving at school. The Therapy Station therapists can collaborate with the school therapists to coordinate care and therapy treatment.

My child did not qualify for school services or First Steps. Can you work with them?

Yes! Oftentimes the state qualifications for therapy are different than what parents feel would benefit their child.

How often do we come to therapy?

At your initial evaluation, frequency and length of sessions will be discussed. Most sessions are once or twice a week.

How long are sessions?

We offer 60 minute, 45 minute, and 30 minute sessions.

Do you offer teletherapy services?

Yes! We offer HIPAA secure teletherapy services.

Can I be present with my child for their session?

Yes - most of the time. We take this on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the age of the child and the areas being treated in therapy, we encourage parents' or loved ones' attendance in sessions. However, there are times where children are more productive without parents or loved ones in the therapy environment. In order to maximize therapy, we will make recommendations on what is best for each patient.
